Balgownie Co. headquartered in Hong Kong, was established in 1981 as the marketing and distribution arm of Hua Yue Textiles of Taiwan. Hua Yue Textiles, as the largest open-ended cotton yarn spinner in Taiwan, and a large producer of PTA and EG synthetic yarn products, had relied on the expertise of Balgownie to market these yarns in Hong Kong. In addition, the company was founded as a weaver of denim and polyester fabrics at four Hong Kong based facilities. Balgownie has since diversified into a global provider of a wide range of wool and fine Chinese and Mongolian cashmere products. These range from fiber to yarns to nicely finished fabric.
